Kristin Fisher joined CNN in July 2021 as the network's Space and Defense Correspondent. As the Space and Defence Correspondent at CNN, she has covering everything from NASA and its recently created Space Force up until commercial space companies, and even the advent and growth of space tourism. Kristin is mother of NASA astronauts, and also a space enthusiast has spent her entire childhood in the industry. She worked for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations. Through this time, she covered the 2020 presidential campaign, the impeachment trial as well as two initiatives to end the pandemic coronavirus, and two other administrations' initiatives. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan on a highly-restricted trip. Before joining the network in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through local TV news markets in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. With her experience behind the camera, Kristin founded Field Mouse Films in 2014. The company focused on making documentary-style movies for corporate clients including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a Bachelor in Science in Journalism that she obtained at Boston University. The couple's husband and daughter live in Washington, D.C.
